The Opportunity:

We’re looking for an IT Security Analyst to join our Information Security team.

This can be a remote role, however for those who would like to come into the office we are at 151 Yonge St, Toronto, ON.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Security the IT Security Analyst will focus on the operation and support of the Aviso security program and related technology systems.

What your day looks like:

• Deploy, integrate, and utilize wide variety of security tools and methodologies to effectively describe, inform and mitigate security threats and protect data, systems, and networks
• Continuous security monitoring, prioritizing overall threat levels through analysis of systems/networks, security platforms and incident management products
• Maintain and improve the security posture of the Azure platform, identifying, and remediating vulnerabilities.
• Manage Security Operations within a cloud
• Support other IT Teams to implement security best-practices and enable secure development and release processes
• Researching, evaluating, designing, testing, recommending, or planning the implementation of new or updated information security solutions
• Consulting with others to ensure that security is considered during the evaluation, selection, and deployment of new solutions, applications, and infrastructure
• Monitoring and reporting on compliance with security policies
• Ensuring audit trails, system logs and other monitoring data sources are reviewed comply with policies and audit requirements.
• Investigating security breaches and coordinating operational components of incident management
• Proposing changes and improvements to existing policies and procedures to ensure operating efficiency and regulatory compliance
• Write clear and concise technical documentation

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical, engineering or IT related field or equivalent combined with 3+ years as a Security Analyst
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft O365, M365 and Azure AD security tools
• Strong familiarity with cloud capabilities and products and services for Azure, e.g. Azure Active Directory, Privileged Identity Management, VMs, Container Registry, Azure Kubernetes Services, Data Services, KeyVault.
• Strong familiarity with cloud capabilities and products and services for Azure, e.g. Azure Active Directory, Privileged Identity Management, VMs, Container Registry, Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS), Data Services, KeyVault.
• Knowledge of and experience in developing and documenting security architecture and plans, including strategic, tactical and project plans
• Knowledge of Internet protocols, network architecture, and security technologies including encryption and authentication (SSL, PKI, IPSec, Single Sign On)
• Working knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxy systems, load balancers and networking platforms
• Root-cause-analysis skills with an emphasis on the best solution to complex technical problems and demonstrated ability to quickly understand complex systems
• Hands-on experience with security audits and network and application penetration testing
• Hands-on experience with hardening Linux & Windows servers and securing virtualization environment running VMWare
• Experience with information security management frameworks, such as International Standards Organization (ISO) 27001/2:2013, the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
• Fluent Communication skills in English are required and bilingual communication skills in French are an asset
