About the role
We’re looking for an Analyst, Personal Lines to join our growing team!
As a Personal Lines Analyst at Belairdirect you will complete regular audits on the Belair book of business to ensure compliance and rating accuracy, along with providing regular feedback to all Stakeholders based on the findings of these audits. You will work closely with the Sales and Underwriting departments to ensure that policies are rated correctly, and to ensure timely follow-ups are completed when needed.
This is a full time permanent opportunity available in our Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, North York or Toronto offices.
What you’ll do here:
Taking the lead role on all file review and call audit and new business reviews for both Agents and Underwriters. Ensuring compliance with internal company policies, procedures and external regulatory requirements
Coach and serve as a technical resource to the Unit Managers in Sales and Operations, and Underwriters. May participate in special projects as required
Assisting in the planning of training sessions on new developments in products, standards, operational trends, and rules
Gather, analyze statistical data, provide reports and recommendations to identify training/coaching opportunities for improvement of underwriting processes and guidelines.
Assist Sales and UW Management in optimizing the performance of our staff through coaching and feedback on scorecard metrics, behaviours and competencies
Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
Minimum 2 years of experience within Underwriting is required
Work well in repetitive work situations
Work well independently and as a team member
Exceptional listening and analytical skills. Detail oriented
Strong technical underwriting knowledge/ judgement
Strong knowledge of rating, products and coverages
Coaching experience is an asset
Regulatory knowledge is an asset
Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is completed or in progress is an asset
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
