Job Title: Education Content Development
Deliverables
The following activities in preparation for training commencement in preparation for Go-Lives targeted for November 2023.
- Develop a detailed work plan outlining how this package of work is to be completed within the defined timeframe.
- Utilize health information system and adult education best practices in the development of content.
- Finalize Expanse learning objectives documentation and validate with clinical workstreams as appropriate.
- Develop blended learning content in preparation for Eagle Ridge Hospital beginning early in 2023:
- Stakeholder groups who will require focused training include, but are not limited to:
- Physicians/providers (e.g. hospitalists, emergency physicians, radiologists, surgeons, cardiologists, etc.)
- Nursing (e.g. inpatient nursing, outpatient/ambulatory nursing, operating room and post-anaesthetic care unit nursing, etc.)
- Allied health professionals (e.g. physiotherapists, occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, dietitians working in acute and ambulatory environments, etc.)
- Clerks and clerical staff (e.g. staff responsible for registration and scheduling, unit clerks, receptionists, etc.)
- Ancillary staff (e.g. pharmacists, pharmacy technologists, imaging technologists, cardiology technologists, etc.)
- Focus will be on the development of classroom and practice instructional materials, including but not limited to instructor manuals, presentation materials, clinical training scenarios, quick reference guides, video demonstrations, simulation scripts and competency evaluation tools. Support for e-learning content (using Adobe Captivate and Moodle LMS) is highly desirable.
- Develop and support Train the Trainer sessions, currently scheduled for January 2023.
- Conduct Adobe Captivate course/content audits.
- Following Eagle Ridge Hospital Go-Live, options may be exercised to conduct similar work in preparation for Royal Columbian Hospital, which would include:
- Updating materials developed for Eagle Ridge Hospital to reflect lessons learned, build and workflow changes in MEDITECH Expanse, and Royal Columbian Hospital programming.
- Develop net new materials to account for additional Royal Columbian Hospital programming. This will be dependent on finalized scope for Royal Columbian Hospital but may include instructional materials for providers/physicians, nursing, allied health professionals, clerical, support and ancillary staff within, but not limited to, the following areas:
- Labor and Delivery/Women’s Health
- Renal/Dialysis
- Specialized Mental Health
- Oncology
- Critical Care/Cardiac
- Neonatal Intensive Care
- Pediatrics
- Interventional Cardiology and Radiology
- Potential support or delivery of in-person or virtual classroom instructional sessions.
Qualifications
- Experience in BC Healthcare preferred
- Experience in large organizations preferred
- Experience with large-scale clinical transformation and/or clinical information system implementation is preferred
- Experience with MEDITECH® Expanse preferred
- The supplier is expected to be able to demonstrate expertise in the planning and delivery of adult education, training content design, and clinical engagement.
