The Specialist, Talent Acquisition is responsible for the strategic sourcing and acquisition of talent to support business needs. This position will work with leaders to create equal opportunity recruitment strategies and campaigns aimed at identifying, shortlisting, hiring and onboarding job-ready candidates. The successful candidate will identify, plan and manage external talent pools to fill business critical roles while applying an understanding of business context, the BHP operating model, and ways of working to enhance decision making, productivity and value chain performance.
About the Role
Manages the selection and assessment process, in accordance with BHP procedures, guidelines and relevant regulatory, legislative, cultural and regional considerations;
Coaches on process and advises on strategies to eliminate bias/ meet business priorities;
Coaches leaders on the Talent Acquisition strategy and how this is a lever to achieving business priorities, including how the use of fair and equitable strategies minimises risks (such as unconscious bias) throughout the recruitment process;
Evaluates and continuously enhances the effectiveness of recruitment strategies;
Measures and reports on data trends to facilitate fair and equitable candidate outcomes, developing or advancing recruitment practices and processes to address issues as appropriate;
Applies market and industry data to support delivery of defined sourcing strategies;
Follows the sourcing strategy through to completion, partnering with key stakeholders to understand and prioritise the relevant talent segment plan;
Contributes to the development of innovative and targeted engagement strategies, creating a point of difference in the felt experience for candidates and customers;
and Applies appropriate selection methodologies to qualify candidates through to candidate talent segment pools in alignment with the sourcing strategy

About You
The ideal candidate for this role will posses post-secondary qualifications in a related field or equivalent work experience. In addition, the successful candidate will:
Ask questions and observe organizational context and dynamics to develop a foundational understanding of how BHP operates and make sound decisions around work effort prioritization;
Understand and apply BHP ways of working;
Understand and manage stakeholders and their priorities; Influence acceptable outcomes;
Guide negotiations to an acceptable outcome based on pre-determined stakeholder requirements;
Collaborate with key decision makers across the organization to implement changes that will drive results.
