Flair Airlines is currently seeking a permanent, full-time Intermediate Accountant to join our growing and ever-changing organization.
Position Overview:
The Intermediate Accountant is an integral part of the finance and accounting team and will report to the Senior Accountant – Reporting. This position is responsible for reconciliations of specific General Ledger Accounts. The role must ensure the proper accounting of prepaids, accruals, long term debts, interest, deposits, intercompany transactions, IFRS accounts allocating the costs to the correct period and ensuring coding to the correct accounts. They are responsible for the preparation of accurate financial statements both internal and external. The accountant supports the annual audits and quarterly reviews as well as the reporting to Shareholders and the TSX or SEC as required. The intermediate Accountant ensures proper coding of expenses and revenues and accurate matching of expenses to periods using accruals. The quality and accuracy of financial information are significant output factors of this role. The role requires an individual who will take initiative to work with other departments and external parties to ensure proper accounting and financial reporting. The role requires an individual that can work in a fast paced, evolving environment. This role requires a strong understanding of processes and controls, ASPE and IFRS accounting, SOX type compliance, and has enhanced technical and communication skills, and a proven ability to partner effectively across business functions.
