This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timely reporting of the company’s lease accounting and supporting the company’s WR&E team. Responsibilities:
-
Independently prepare and manage a lease portfolio, including regular communication with the finance BU contacts
-
Perform month-end and quarter-end close process for respective lease accounting portfolio, including posting journal entries and account reconciliations
-
Actively perform lease assessments, modifications and re-measurements and quantify the impact
-
Provide accounting guidance and support for the field accommodation team and complete their monthly accounting tasks and reporting analysis
-
Prepare key financial reports including quarterly and annual financial statement disclosures related to the Company’s finance lease liabilities
-
Compile, update and analyze the company’s actual and forecast information in SAP’s Business Planning and Consolidation (“BPC”) tool related to the assigned lease accounting portfolio and corporate expenses for the Workplace and Real Estate (“WR&E”) team

Actively participate in preparation of the company’s annual budget specifically related to leases under IFRS 16

Participate in the development and improvement of business processes within the lease accounting team

Support overall compliance with SOX processes and controls

Liaise with external auditors as necessary

Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-
CPA Designation or an advanced degree in accounting
-
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
-
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
-
Knowledge of the oil and gas industry would be advantageous
-
Experience with SAP, BPC and Business ware-house financial systems is an asset
-
Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Applications

Strong knowledge of IFRS

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to pay close attention to detail

Good organizational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
