Position Overview
The Retail Operations Manager, who reports directly to the Vice President, has an exceptional understanding of Cloré core values and company standards. The Retail Operations Manager is responsible for the productivity of a wide network of Cloré retail locations and will be overseeing many aspects of the day-to-day operations at Cloré. The Retail Operations Manager’s main goal is to work closely with Retail Store Managers to implement sales targets and provide the guidance to maintain an effective and efficient work environment, with a focus on customer service and management training.
Responsibilities
Retail Operations
- Consult, lead and coach retail Managers in optimizing store sales and increase profitability
- Visit Cloré locations bi-weekly, consult with retail Managers to identify or resolve organization concerns with bi-weekly reports to Directors..
- Review locations for installation and maintenance of merchandise, signs, quality control, equipment and other materials relevant to smooth store operations and customer service
- Develop and assess store performance with Directors, and make recommendations for continuous improvements
- Maintain, update, and enforce safety and security procedures.
- Ensure profitability of retail store(s) by controlling costs and expenditures, pursue marketing ideas, and ensure delivery of high quality products.
- Ensure that all company policies and procedures are implemented and consistently followed through effective communication
- Monitor and analyse on employee recruitment and development through store visits, Store Manager and employee feedback
- Keep up-to-date with changes in the field of retail operations by attending seminars, workshops, webinars, etc. for continuous learning opportunities
Staff Relations
- Outline manager concerns in a professional, productive, and timely manner which need Directors’ approval
- Oversee and coordinate retail projects that are beyond Retail Store Manager duties such as renovations, equipment/display purchases, etc.
Inventory Management
- Analyze and recommend inventory levels stocked for all locations to Purchasing Manager
- Coordinate with Purchasing Manager on inventory movement according to sales between locations
- Provide feedback reducing excess/obsolete inventory at each location
- Develop and implement distribution strategies and recommend growth opportunities to management
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, workflow, quality, and sales
Head Office Communications
- Work with the Human Resource team, to identify and suggest opportunities in existing training and make amendments to ensure proper training is delivered to all staff
- Assist in executing community events alongside the stores with support from Marketing Team
- Review sales, staff issues, inventory reports with Directors and create action plans for improvement for each location
- Communicate with Marketing and Purchasing Managers about potential products lines and promotions ideas

Qualifications
- Strong project management skills and detail oriented
- Experience with large volumes of merchandise and sales
- Minimum of 3+ years retail management experience, managing multiple stores at the same time is considered a strong asset
- Post-secondary education in Business, or a related field from a recognized institution preferred
