The Commissionaires, Northern Alberta Division is currently seeking a full time Payroll Administrator. Here is your chance to be part of a supportive, professional and diverse Finance team that will appreciate your skills and contributions. We are seeking a motivated, experienced Payroll Administrator to join our dynamic team.
Working with a high degree of independence, you will be responsible for the compensation of approximately 900 employees living in Northern Alberta on a semi-monthly basis. Specific duties include but not limited to: entering and verifying compensation using a scheduling software and resolving discrepancies.
Other duties will include:
· Ensure compliance with provincial legislation and guidelines.
· Investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors.
· Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
· Review and verify source documents.
· Filing important documents, information and answering phones, faxes etc.
Requirements
· You must have or are working towards your PCP designation (Payroll Compliance Practitioner).
· If you successfully achieved your PCP, you must be an active member.
· Have a payroll background with a minimum of 1-year experience.
· Have an aptitude for learning new systems and processes.
· Have the ability to multitask while maintaining a steady pace.
· Knowledge of Sage 300 and Microsoft Excel would be an asset but not necessary.
· Excellent organizational skills are crucial, attention to detail and accuracy will ensure that you can work within strict deadlines.
· Ability to work equally effectively in team-based environments as well as on tasks which require high levels of sensitivity, confidentiality, initiative, autonomy, and independent thought and action.
· You must be responsive to others, communicate with patience, clarity and work diligently with your team to get the job done.
· The applicant must have solid and highly accurate data entry skills with the understanding of basic accounting principles and internal controls.
· Must be able to work evenings and weekends when required due to tight deadlines. (Time off in lieu)
