Position Overview
Reporting to the Site Director or Site Lead, Human Resources Services, the incumbent participates in the provision of a variety of human resources services including administration, staffing, employee relations, and labour relations.
Experience
- Minimum of three years experience in a unionized environment performing a broad range of Human Resource functions including: employee relations, labour relations and staffing.
- Previous experience using ESP and SAP an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
- Successful completion of a recognized Administrative Assistant or Secretarial training program required.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Certificate in Human Resource Management from a recognized post-secondary institution required or enrollment and completion of the program within 5 years from date of hire.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrates knowledge and support of:
- The vision, values, goals, and objectives of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and Concordia Hospital
- Concordia Hospital Mission, Vision, Values Statement and Code of Conduct.
- Personal Health Information Act, Protection of Persons in Care Act, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions) and other legislated acts.
- Knowledge of current recruitment and selection methods and processes.
- Knowledge of collective agreements and human resources policies.
- Knowledge of employment-related statutes and regulations.
- Knowledge of HRIS applications.
- Knowledge of ESP timekeeping/payroll system is an asset.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook) required.
Must have good communication and interpersonal skills. - Effective problem-solving skills, written communication skills and organizational skills are essential.
- Ability to act with initiative, judgment, tact and diplomacy essential.
- Must be able to learn and adapt quickly.
Physical Requirements
- Work is primarily in an office environment.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities and competing demands.
Salary is commensurate with education and qualifications.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
