Job Summary
Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick (DMNB) is one of the two campuses of Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine. The main administrative office is located on the UNB Campus in Saint John. Reporting to the Director of Student and Resident Affairs, the Student and Resident Affairs Coordinator is responsible to provide the coordination and administrative support required for the design, implementation and evaluation of activities for the undergraduate and postgraduate programs of the Faculty of Medicine in New Brunswick.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the planning, organization and administrative delivery of annual curricular and special events including, but not limited to, integration events between First Light and Launch ceremonies, Multiple-Mini Interviews and core curricular and ad hoc sessions with internal and external partners.
Provides guidance regarding all aspects of learner promotion and evaluation regulations to ensure proper interpretation by learners, staff, and faculty and an understanding of the CACMS (Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools) standards of accreditation requirements.
Responsible to support learners, assisting where appropriate, and triage learner issues to appropriate resources for professional counselling, physician assistance or other internal or external support services as required.
Act as resource person regarding academic and administrative policies and procedures. Resolve problems consulting relevant documentation and liaise with appropriate internal and external resources to obtain and provide information on diverse and complex issues.
Review processes and procedures recommending changes as required to deliver the program effectively and efficiently, and contribute to the design and implementation of quality assurance initiatives and policy and procedures to support the program objectives and deliverables.
Responsible for the ongoing gathering, documentation, authorization and retention and sharing of confidential student records in accordance with established policies and procedures and deadlines.
Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Qualifications
Undergraduate degree with a minimum of three to five years’ experience in a university setting in such areas as counselling, student engagement and planning (or an equivalent combination of training and experience) is required. Must have demonstrated excellent client service experience working independently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. Highly developed interpersonal skills, and ability to make decisions and provide leadership in a multi-site, multi-stakeholder environment is required. Demonstrated knowledge of standard office software and database systems is essential. Demonstrated advocacy for fairness, equity, diversity and inclusion. Demonstrated experience in course and/or event planning will be considered an asset. Knowledge and working experience with One-45, On-line Web-based Learning systems will be considered an asset. Knowledge of medical education programs and/or academic health care programs will be considered an asset. Demonstrated advocacy for fairness, equity, diversity and inclusion.·
