We’re looking for the right person to complement our team in our office & retail shop in downtown Haliburton. This is a public-facing position, in an essential industry, that cannot be completed remotely. We understand that some are more comfortable working remotely and we respect all comfort levels, though we invite only those comfortable in an office/retail setting to apply.

This position is dynamic and changes drastically with the season, though it is a full-time, year-round post. While some weekend work is required through part of the year, this schedule is shared so no one person works every weekend. During the slow season, every team member enjoys weekends off, if they choose. We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your personal priorities.
Our team enjoys 4-day work weeks (or equivalent during the part of the year weekend shifts are required) with the option of 32-40 hours per week so team members can ensure they are maintaining a healthy work-life balance without sacrificing income. We hold ourselves to high standards and endeavour to reward our team for their efforts.
Salary: $17-25/hr based on previous experience
Duties include, but are not limited to:
– Answer customer inquiries via phone and email
– Organize professional services using scheduling software
– Provide administrative support to team members in and out of the office
– Manage and create email marketing lists
– Create engaging content for social media, website and email marketing
– Greet and engage retail guests, consult with them about their needs and make product recommendations
– Process sales using a POS terminal, manage inventory and order new items as needed
– Update visual merchandising with engaging and timely displays
– Compile and send invoices, service reports and statements with effective communication
– Process service payments and provide receipts in person and electronically
– Weekend shifts required during busy season
Qualifications of our ideal candidate:
– Office/communications experience essential
– Schedule/routing experience an asset
– Problem solving, attention to detail, customer service and communication skills
– Effectively able to multitask and work independently while contributing to broader team goals
– Excellent computer skills and able to quickly learn new software. Quickbooks experience an asset
– Positive attitude and adaptability to a varied work environment including sitting and standing
– Experience creating engaging social media communication
– Professional and friendly demeanor
