The opportunity
We are looking for a dynamic person to join EY Private Assurance Team (EY Private) in Edmonton as an Audit Assistant (AA). The EY Private Group is a team of professionals that supports owner managed businesses in their financial reporting and tax needs.
Our AAs are driven administrative professionals who support the Partners and Management team within EY Private in delivering high quality client service. Our AAs enjoy teaming with colleagues while striving to understand and anticipate needs to exceed expectations, supporting EY’s growth and profitability, in line with its vision of building a better working world.
Your key responsibilities:
Business support
Engagement maintenance
Support the client management team by working directly with managers to set up client files, preparation of client engagement packages throughout the entire engagement process utilizing Caseware and Taxprep programs. This includes pre-engagement processes all the way through to final package delivery.
Processing of administrative archiving functions in line with EY policies.
Coordinate with government authorities (Canada Revenue Agency and Alberta Finance) on client support matters.
Share best practices regarding systems controls and tracking of engagement flow.
Support the management team with client delivery functions.
Tax administration
Coordinate flow of tax returns with the management team
Process electronic filing of tax returns
Assemble and process tax returns for client packages
Prepare, assembler and efile T4 and T5 Information returns
Document management
Use firm brand standards to create and format letters, proposals, presentations, and reports using various Microsoft tools
Teaming
Participate in meetings and learning events; engage in team initiatives and projects; and provide short-term backup support where required.

To qualify for the role, you must have
Post-secondary education and/or relevant experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) with proven ability to learn customized software/tools
Excellent customer service and proven team player with strong written and oral communications skills
