Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mill Trainer to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Training Coordinator, the Mill Trainer is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining training materials for the Mill Department with a primary focus in operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE: Develop and maintain up to date training programs, files, and records for the Mill Department in compliance with the Greenstone Mine, Provincial and other applicable regulatory agencies Develop mill standard operating procedures in close cooperation with the mill department working as one team Prepare teaching materials and job aids, and deliver training Evaluate training materials after delivery and revise or update materials as required Collaborate with the Mill team to identify and prioritize training needs Collaborate with technical personnel to observe and analyze jobs, and validate operating procedures and processes for training purposes Deliver training to individuals and groups in the classroom, work areas and as required situations and circumstances Plan and optimize training schedules within operational deadlines and track and document employee progress Help colleagues perform their jobs safely and effectively by sharing information, skills, and knowledge Mentor Operators, evaluating performance to determine level of competency, providing coaching and technical expertise where required
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Good organizational skills and ability to respond to multiple and often competing priorities Strong initiative and willingness to learn Comprehensive knowledge of employment legislation Proficient in various MS Office Applications Ability to work independently Strong attention to detail Inclusive and collaborative while able to meet to meet deadlines
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION Minimum of 5 years of training experience in Process Plant related to mineral processing is required. Gold milling experience with supporting MTCU modules is required. ‘Train the Trainer’ certification is required. Advanced ‘Train the Trainer’ certification is an asset. Experience in cross cultural work environment is an asset. Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) would be an asset.
LOCATION This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario on a rotational basis.
Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick-up point locations.
