Hays Looking for Senior Security Officer at Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Your New Company:

Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a public sector located in Ottawa, ON. We are looking to hire a Head of Security to join their team on a contract basis of 3 months, which has the possibility of extension. This candidate will be working from their Downtown Ottawa Office on a full time basis.

Your New Role:

• Maintaining accurate records of CMN Staff & Corporate Contractor`s screening expiry dates, managing renewal notices and processes.
• Managing CMN Access/ID cards and Staff pictures more efficiently and safely.
• Managing/assisting with management of the analytics and programming of the CMN Security Surveillance Systems; both facilities.
• Managing the NHC Key systems; new key sets, key stocks in Traka, cylinder stocks and replacements.
• Assisting with the management of the Security Gard Contract.
• Assisting with the management, development, and delivery of the training programmes for new Guards, the Fire Warden, and Evacuation Drill Programmes; both facilities if required.
• Assisting with Security Project Management & Site Work Supervision.
• Assisting with the revision of the multitude of – or creation of new Standard Operating Procedures.
• Assisting with the management of documentation and reports.
• Assisting with the assessment and response to Threats and Risks.
• Assisting with the management of Security Operation and Guard Requirements prior, during and after Events.
• Acting as a back-up to other Staff during vacation, sick leaves, time away from the office, Conference attendances, training, and certification requirements, etc. This provides proper redundancy of functions and ensures enough Protection staff are available during incidents and major crises.

Requirements:

• 2 – 3 years experience working as a security officer
• PSP – Physical Security Professional Certificate (asset)
• Reliability Clearance is a strong asset
• Bilingualism (French and English) – asset
