Summary: *
The R&D (Research and Development) Technician position provides opportunities to apply Food and Natural Health Product knowledge and creativity to help develop and improve existing products as well as new products. Individuals work hands-on and closely with the marketing/sales teams, suppliers, internal operations, etc. to imagine and launch products that delight consumers and grow the Herbaland brand. In addition, R&D Technician needs to prepare documents and product registration as required.

Job Duties:
- Formulate new and existing plant-based products to meet objectives for sensory and nutritional attributes, quality, manufacturability, cost and timeline.
- Work closely with other team members and co-pack partners to coordinate and execute production testing and drive the commercialization of new products and processes.
- Maintain detailed, comprehensive records of formulations, process parameters, finished product results, sensory assessments and project progress.
- Provide technical and troubleshooting assistance for production scale-up and pilot trials.
- Send batch records and product calculation to QC to check based on production plan.
- Collecting raw material documents for QC Team to review and approve.
- Apply NPN for new launched finish products registration, amendment for old products may also be required.
- Actively research and recommend new ingredients, product concepts, technologies, and processes to keep Herbaland at the forefront of the plant-based sector.
- Maintain a good, clean lab environment.
- Prioritizes sustainability and the environment when engaged in business relations
- Enthusiastically perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Food Science, Food Technology or related discipline.
- Nutraceutical experience is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
- Aptitude for solving technical challenges through systematic research and investigation.
- Ability to multitask, project coordinate and manage by objectives.
- Analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
- Excellent communication, planning, organizational and mathematical skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and simply to non-technical parties.
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail and commitment to follow-through.
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure and time-sensitive conditions.
- Reduce environmental impact whenever possible
Work Conditions:
- Travel may be required.
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
- Overtime may be required.
Training
On the job training will be provided and evaluated upon completion.
