The National HR Lead, Employee Benefits & Retirement (EB&R) is a new position that was created to support the growth of HUB International Canada’s national EB&R division. The role serves as an excellent launch pad for a mid-senior level HR Professional that is looking for development and exposure to strategic HR initiatives on a national scale. This role reports to the SVP, Regional HR Lead, Canada with a dotted line to the Regional President, Employee Benefits, Retirement & Life.
The successful candidate for this position will have the flexibility to be located anywhere within Canada; ideally, near a HUB office working in a hybrid environment. What You’ll Do
Working closely with the Canada regional HR Leads, this individual will serve as, but not limited to the following:
Act as the main point of contact for all EB&R HR-related due diligence and onboarding duties
Foster and champion a Canadian EB&R-specific culture of teamwork, inclusion, recognition, and engagement
Participate in regional and national HR association groups in an effort to provide thought leadership on HR trends and best practices, and stay up to date with relevant laws and regulations
Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to business leaders to help inform decision-making and drive business results
Collaborate with Canada Regional HR Leads to identify and implement EB&R HR initiatives that align with overall business goals and objectives
Provide timely and effective support and guidance to employees and the Employee Benefits Leadership Team on a wide range of HR-related issues, such as employee relations, performance management, and development
Support the recruitment and onboarding process for new hires, as well as employee retention efforts; pro-actively build and maintain a regional talent pipeline that is reviewed quarterly
Oversee and manage the entry of tasks and reporting within the human capital management system (Workday, Kronos and Cornerstone) such as position creation, employee termination, job changes, time and attendance, training and development, and other related transactions as required
Problem-solve using logic, reasoning, collaboration, and solid HR skills to resolve difficult employee situations
Drive key programs and processes (e.g., performance management cycles, training, compensation planning, people leader coaching, employee relations/conflict resolution, organizational design, etc.)
Participate in and/or lead national EB&R HR projects
What You’ll Need for Success
Typically, 5+ years of Human Resource Business Partner experience or in a similar role
Post-secondary graduate with a degree or diploma within a relevant field combined with a professional HR designation completed or in progress
Results-oriented and passionate, with a strong sense of accountability, metrics, and ownership
Strong organization and prioritization skills with a solid work ethic & entrepreneurial spirit
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
Ethics, integrity, and professionalism with the ability to navigate a complex structural environment
Proven track record of developing and establishing credibility and forming relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels
Project management experience is an asset
A team player who also possesses the independence of thought and honesty when making key business decisions
Effective change management, time management, decision-making, and follow-up skills
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
Must have the ability to travel up to 10% of the time, with pockets of additional travel
Bilingual capabilities (French/English) would be an asset
