Currently we are looking for Four (4) Unit Aide’s to work in our Pre-Operative, SDC, and PACU units within the Surgical Program.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring that the areas and Supply carts are stocked, replacing linen, supplies, etc.
Other stocking duties as assigned.
Transporting clean/soiled linen, medical surgical /supplies, patients, patient belongings specimens etc.
Ensuring that all empty Bays are equipped with a clean stretcher
Assisting pre-op patients with way finding to pre-operative change rooms
Transporting patients within the Surgical Services
Working with the volunteers in navigating patients in the pre-operative area
Requirements:
Grade 12 education or equivalent.
Two years of recent related hospital medical/surgical supply experience required.
CSAO or Sterile Supply Processing certificate preferred.
Working knowledge of medical supplies and sterilization equipment required.
Pre-Operative Service experience is a strong asset.
Ability to operate with training, machinery, ie sterilizers.
Able to handle physical requirements of the job (ability to lift 25-30 pounds repeatedly).
Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
Hours of work: Available to work all rotating shifts including weekends “subject to change as per Article 3 – Management Rights”.
0600 – 1400
0900 – 1700
1000 – 1800
1300 – 2100
Hourly rate: $21.833/hr – $22.265/hr
