We, Indra Management & Consultancy Solutions are looking for a General Manager to work in popular franchise and hotel chain at Calgary, Alberta. You will be responsible for the overall success of the hotel. You will plan and supervise the activities of a diverse workforce to ensure the smooth and profitable running of the business. Plan short-term, long-term, and day-to-day operations of the property. Your daily activities may involve conflict resolution, guiding your team to reach new goals. Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency of all applicable food and beverage laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, coordinates, and implements the day-to-day operations of the hotel
• Oversees hotel staffing to include recruitment & selection, orientation, training & development, scheduling, counseling, performance management, and other employee relations issues
• Maintains personal contact with guests, clients, and community organizations
• Analyzes financial performance by comparing actual performance to planned performance, identifying variances, and initiating corrective action.
• Maintains product and service quality standards by implementing policies and procedures, investigating deficiencies/complaints, and initiating corrective action.
• Inspects guestrooms to ensure all cleanliness standards are met for Hotel Management Company and the Hotel brand
• Develop, implement, monitor and participate in a comprehensive sales and marketing strategies that results in maximum occupancy and average rates for the hotel.
• Coordinate and assist with guest satisfaction and guest resolutions.
• Protect and enhance the value of all hotel assets through appropriate programs in maintenance, security, and housekeeping and through the capital budgeting process.
• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all period-end financial statements and reports, and provide controls to ensure the proper handling and accounting for all hotel receipts.
• Coordinate weekly forecasting and planning of operating staffing and cost expenditures to correspond to forecasted sales and costs.
• Drive the team for business development and create more effective revenue generating steams.
• Review and approve all operating expenses.

Required Skills/Qualifications

• Holds Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years’ experience in a Management position with overall experience of minimum 10 years in restaurant/ hospitality industry. Holds a Masters would be an added advantage
• Detail oriented, process driven and ability to problem solve in high-volume and demanding fast-paced environments.
• Passionate and influential leader who positively communicates cross-functionally and leads a team to drive efficient and effective best practices through service.
• Passionate about food and beverages trends and best practices and local health & safety compliancy regulations.
• Ability to manage personnel and meet / exceed financial targets.
• Guest-oriented and service-minded as well as flexible and pro-active.
• Sharp analytical mind, with good attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and on own initiative.
• Strong leadership and a professional image.
• Must have citizenship in Canada or Open work visa
