About the opportunity:
The Senior Director, Industrial Manufacturing partners with the VP, Manufacturing and Plant Directors/Managers in the Refrigerated Products Group (Fluid) in creating the strategy for manufacturing plants in the division. The position sets goals, monitors work, and evaluates results of the manufacturing plants under their responsibility to ensure objectives and operational requirements meet the strategies and goals of the organization.
The Senior Director, Industrial Manufacturing will travel to the plants where the need for partnership exists, in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec. Travel frequency will be two-three days per week.

What you will bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science, Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial) or Food Science
• Minimum ten (10) years of Plant Management experience in dairy or food manufacturing is required
• Best Practices / Good Manufacturing Practices – Ability to implement good manufacturing practices by clearly defining written work instructions, best practices and standard operating procedures that follow health regulations and ensure effective manufacturing techniques, product safety, and product quality.
• Health, Safety and Environment Strategy – Ability to effectively develop, revise and ensure the implementation of a group-wide health, safety, environmental and risk operational strategy.
• Operational Effectiveness / OEE – Ability to work closely with all departments, monitor and analyze overall equipment effectiveness and plant efficiency KPIs and implement strategies to improve them.
• Implementing Lactalis Rules and KPIs
• Product Manufacturing – Ability to analyze production results and identify problem areas, by using product and production related knowledge. Ensure all products are compliant with food safety and quality standards.
• Production Management (also existing under Supply Chain) – Ability to manage plant resources and capacity to meet production targets and plant requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively to engage all stakeholders.
• Ability to adhere to the Company’s values, code of conduct and ethical principles.
• Leadership skills – Ability to act as a role model, positively influencing others and enhancing their ability to contribute to the organizational goals.
• Ability to develop highly performing people and cohesive teams by managing their morale, motivation, expectations, and evaluating and recognizing the performance of individuals and teams.
• Ability to work efficiently and creatively to achieve ambitious goals/objectives ensuring the highest level of quality.
• Strategic thinking ability – Provide a holistic and systematic perspective on strategic issues and leveraging them to articulate a clear vision of the future.
• Teamwork – work collaboratively to achieve ambitious goals by creating trust within and amongst work groups.
• Need to be able to take Operations VP Role at short or middle term
