LUS brands was built to a significant size in less than 5 years, using predominantly social media marketing. While we have remained almost exclusively DTC for the first several years of operations, this year, we’re looking to expand to new sales and distribution channels.

About the role

The Email & SMS Marketing Lead will oversee the day-to-day, hands-on execution of the email marketing calendar and strategy. With over 1 million customers in our community, you will engage, connect and drive conversion through your email and SMS marketing campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity for a data-driven, creative, and passionate individual.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day email + SMS channels; this includes strategy, creative briefing, copywriting, deliverable review, and deployment.

• Consistently meet or exceed all email + SMS KPIs such as list growth (email & SMS), unsubscribe rate, revenue per recipient, conversion rate, open rate, and click rate.

• Monitor flow and opt-in form performance, optimizations, and A/B testing.

• Assist with lifecycle/retention roadmap and execution

• Align email & SMS strategies to 360 marketing campaigns, focusing on goals, target audience, and key messaging.

• Act as project manager for all email & SMS campaigns; ensuring deadlines are adhered to and that deliverables align with brand guidelines and campaign goals.

• Find synchronicities across other marketing verticals (organic and paid social, influencer, etc.) and funnel them into email & SMS.

• Utilize data and insights to recommend strategies for list growth, upsell/cross-selling, and improved customer retention via email and SMS.

• Regularly audit, test, and improve always-on email flows to increase customer engagement, retention, and revenue.

• Work cross-functionally with Creative, Acquisition, Tech and Brand teams.

• Keep abreast with industry, competitive, and market trends and best practices.

Required Skill and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field

• 2+ years in a marketing or customer service-related role, plus 2-3+ years of additional experience in email/SMS marketing.

• Proven success growing and retaining email & SMS lists and driving measurable revenue results for a business.

• Ability to analyze cohorts for CPG brands and tailor unique marketing campaigns/messages to them.

• Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong copywriting skills are essential.

• Ability to think with both your left and right brain.

• Experience with CPG beauty is a plus.

• Experience in a fast-growing start up considered an asset

• Hands-on experience implementing campaigns through an enterprise ESP (ideally Klaviyo). Shopify Plus experience is preferred.

• Exceptional organizational skills. Detail-orientedness is also critical.
