MetCap Living Looking for Junior Corporate Accountant at Toronto, Ontario, Canada Full Time

MetCap Living Management Inc. is one of the largest private third-party property managers specializing in multi-residential property management. We are a growth orientated company with our head office located in Toronto, Ontario and property operations in British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

MetCap Living Management Inc. has an immediate opening for a Junior Corporate Accountant at our Downtown Toronto office.

Position: Junior Corporate Accountant

Reports to: Manager, Corporate Accounting

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor daily bank balance and cash flow
• Monitoring credit card expenditures and credit limits; payments towards credit cards
• Handle full accounting cycle for a portfolio of residential real estate properties and corporate entities
• Responsible for revenue cycle including invoicing, reconciliation of accounts receivables, preparation of accounts receivables analysis report, monitoring and following up on collections and process payment receipts
• Coordinate with accounts payable/revenue accountant to ensure monthly cutoff procedures are in effect for payables and revenues
• Preparation of monthly bank reconciliation and reconciliation of control accounts (accounts receivable, accounts payable, last month’s rent, LMR interest) to subsidiary ledgers, intercompany balances, schedules of balance sheet accounts
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages (financial statements, actual to budget analysis, balance sheet analysis)
• Ensure accounting policies and procedures are followed
• Preparation and filing of HST and QST returns on a prompt basis
• Assistance in preparation of annual budget
• Assistance in preparation of annual year end working papers
• Ad hoc reporting from time to time, as requested

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with experience in accounting
• Currently enrolled and pursuing a CPA designation, preferred
• Self-directed and takes initiative
• Able to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
• Prioritization and time management skills
• Organized, detail and deadline-oriented
• Strong Excel skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Yardi Voyageur systems an asset
