We are currently seeking a full-time permanent transportation professional to join our team in the role of Dispatcher.

Responsibilities:
Monitoring load refusals
Works in cooperation and provides support to the drivers and owner operators
Conducts all administrative duties in a professional manner with full respect to “due diligence”
Ensures the accurate and timely processing of information to and from trucks
Assists drivers with route planning and loading/unloading concerns
Keeps sales and operations up to date on movement of trucks and any special needs or concerns of these trucks
Ensures that drivers are complying with federal log book regulations
Communicates with, Safety Manager with regard to incident information
Keeps all persons involved up to date on what events are occurring
Responsible for ensuring accurate routing
Ensures all drivers are ready and able for work, equipped with all personal protective equipment as prescribed by company policy
Ensure the deployment of appropriate equipment and personnel for jobs and projects
Work with other Operations personnel, Customer Service (sales) to schedule equipment availability
Coordinates all permits and utility requirements with Permit Coordinator
Customer and Customs liaison
Work closely with maintenance to position equipment to Mill Creek or other repair agencies for work
Work closely with other business units to look for truckload or less than truckload for our trucks
Decides how much volume of work can be handled, and forwards excess to the logistics planners
Works with driver liaison to ensure individual needs of drivers and o/ops are met.
Works to ensure that customer requirements are met
Works with Customs Department and drivers to provide ACI and ACE paperwork and entry numbers
Assist where and when needed in all operation positions
Assist where and when needed in customs positions
Daily tracking of all units, positions and locations
Set up next day local drivers and ensure hours of service rules are followed. Report any violations to Operations Manager
On call when required
Requirements:
must have own transportation
must live within an hour of Ayr, ON
Preference will be given to applicants with more then one year experience as a dispatcher.
