Neo Financial is looking for a full-time Director of Accounting to join our team in Calgary, AB. Our finance team is more than just your average group of number crunchers with their heads down in data. They see the big picture and are all about growth opportunities, knocking down business barriers, and building a future in the fintech world. What you’ll be doing::
Provide day-to-day oversight to our accounting and controls team including:

Accounts payable, and business credit cards, including oversight of our commodity tax processes and filings

Billing and accounts receivable

Daily balance sheet reconciliations

Grants

Month end financial reporting, including internal KPIs and external reporting

Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures

Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures

Assist in the compilation and review of our annual external financial statements

Triage and make recommendations in technical accounting matters, supported by position papers

Provide support to develop and empower our accounting and controls team

Who we’re looking for::
A professional accounting designation

8+ years of experience in accounting including 2+ years in a supervisory role

Strong knowledge of ASPE and IFRS

Entrepreneurial DNA – comfortable making data-driven decisions in the face of ambiguity and dealing with major challenges along the way with poise

Experience in commodity tax accounting is an asset

Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external working relationships

Experience managing a team of accounting professionals

Strong analytical, decision making, planning, and organizational skills

Comfortable working with autonomy and ownership in a fast paced environment, taking initiative to resolve issues
