Quality Inspector Supervisor
We are looking for a Quality Surveyor Supervisor for our Peterborough, Ontario site.
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Quality and Training Manager, the Quality Surveyor Supervisor will have direct supervision of the Quality Control Inspection team (Quality and Lab Technicians). The Quality Inspection Supervisor provides oversight, support and coaching when challenges occur in any job by relying on experiences, knowledge and ability to determine how to proceed The Quality Inspection Supervisor leads in the resolution of highly complex problems so manufacturing can resume and/or our product can be shipped.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly Supervises QCI
-
Supervises QCI resources at multiple inspection location (BWXT, Vendor, Customer).

Coordinates scheduling of QCIs by prioritizing incoming work based on business needs. Has frequent interface with TLs, PMs, FMs, etc in order to understand the needs and determine priorities.

Manages, delegate and oversees work in: incoming inspection, in-process inspection,
-
final inspection, weld inspection, dimensional inspection, NDE inspections, calibration.

Provides direction where acceptance criteria, verification strategies and product/process validations are ambiguous.
QA Subject Matter Expert

Interpret drawings, technical documents, procedures, codes and standards.

Participate in estimating and job planning as required.

Interacts with Engineering, QS/QAEA/QCI and Manufacturing to determine appropriate documentation of non-conformances, dispositions and corrective actions.

Participates in QA program audits and regulatory audits.

Provide training: on-boarding, on-the-job, and SAT.
Leader of Shop Floor QA Processes and Programs

Oversees standard QA shop-floor processes and programs: WOs, NRs, MRB, Calibration, Shelf Life, etc.

Implements continuous improvement initiative or new requirements by working with individuals at all levels of the organization and executing to full implementation.

Analyses and validates data using Tableau and info view reports to ensure adequate resources are allocated for processes.

Maintain qualifications for inspectors and technicians.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
University or college degree in engineering, science, or technology.
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in metrology, with a preference for prior experience in a certified trade
-
Demonstrated ability to interpret GD&T, drawings and technical documents.

SME in dimensional inspection techniques.
-
Experience in welding and/or weld inspection.
-
Experience in CMM programming and operation including PCDMIS software.

Experience in Electrical assembly (cable harness, PLC) production or inspection.

Working knowledge of non-destructive testing (RT, UT, LP, MP, etc.).

Demonstrated ability to Lead and Manage QA staff.

Demonstrated team player.
-
Excellent communication skills.
-
Excellent computer skills and experience, including Microsoft Office, CAD/CAM.

Must be able to travel.
Desired:

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Nuclear.

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Manufacturing and/or quality.
