Duration: Eight (8) months initial contract; extendible for up to another Two (2) years.
Project / Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager with experience in large scale IT implementations to gather functional, technical and business requirements and develop a request for proposal (RFP) document in effort to identify a potential replacement system. The work will initiate with the RFP process and could extend into project planning and full-scale implementation. A significant portion of the work will be to undertake in-depth business process analysis and redesign to ensure that business processes are streamlined to avoid duplication and that the system truly supports the needs of the health authorities in effective provider management.
Responsibilities / Deliverables:
The Sr. IT Project Manager responsibilities/deliverables may include, but may not be limited to:
Overall project planning and management (from inception to completion) including transition to sustainment activities, ensuring a high-level of quality for all deliverables and that they are completed on time and within budget (see details below).
Management of integrated project dependencies including PQTO engagement.
Leveraging the original RFP and through engagement with a broad array of business stakeholders; identify, gather and analyze business, functional and technical requirements for both current and anticipated use of a provincial C&P solution, including a review of current system configurations
Prepare an application for an RFP – request for proposal as part of a fulsome procurement process
Lead stakeholders through both requirements gathering process and review of responses
Conduct an in-depth analysis of the most relevant solutions, to include but not be limited to: costing, price of ownership, technical architecture, functionality
Support contracting processes
Develop project charter and initiate project structure through detailed project planning
Develop a project plan
Deliverable including Business Requirements, Functional specifications, RFP document , Procurement processes, Project charter and project plan
Experience / Skills Requirements:
The Sr. IT Project Manager should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
1. Degree, Diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience in related field.
2. 7-10 plus years related experience in project management.
3. Highly skilled in project management of large-scale IT (information technology) projects.
4. Experience leading provincially scoped projects, including overseeing data migration, business process redesign and enabling the resultant system to be a valued provincial asset.
5. Demonstrated ability to conduct business requirements gathering across multiple stakeholders.
6. Knowledge of cloud infrastructure considered an asset.
7. Skilled in executive stakeholder engagement.
8. Political acumen and ability to manage sensitive issues.
9. Experience working with medical staff and executive medical leaders.
10. Project Management Professional designation considered an asset.
11. Expertise in SmartSheet project management softwareconsidered an asset
12. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment including ability to communicate with senior stakeholders.
