Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will support all areas of accounting and finance for the BioAlliance and associated not-for-profit companies, including payroll, reconciliation, modelling and analysis, and financial reporting. This position requires a skilled and engaged individual that is highly motivated to be part of the team growing and developing the bioscience sector of the PEI economy.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Biweekly payroll processing
- Financial modelling and analysis
- Reconciliation of transfers between bank accounts
- Credit card reconciliation
- Monthly and quarterly financials for review
- Audit preparation and internal control maintenance
- Balance Sheet reconciliation
- Cashflow statements for projects
- Accounts Receivable maintenance and collection
- Records maintenance – contracts and claims (physical copies)
- SharePoint maintenance – contracts and claims
- Claims submission – uploading to ACOA direct, photocopying of records, filing
- Partners in Prosperity invoicing
- Journal entry preparation
- Report generation as required
- Ad hoc analyses as requested by Director of Finance
- Monthly back up of Simply Accounting
- Reconciliation of CASTL Online Academy
Competencies & Experience
- 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and/or a degree or diploma in accounting and 3 years experience
- Expertise in financial modelling and analysis an asset
- High degree of competency in Excel Spreadsheet development and use
- Demonstrated strength in effective communication both oral, and written
- The ability to work independently, take initiative where appropriate, and be flexible
- Experience with government programs and claims processes would be an asset
- A high degree of integrity, professional commitment, and attention to detail
- A professional accounting designation would be an asset
