The Network Business Analyst provides technical support and advisory services to an assigned portfolio in the areas of procurement, installation, and maintenance within a complex enterprise-wide information technology infrastructure. The role leads small to medium information technology projects, and may facilitate change management strategies as part of the project. The Network Business Analyst performs system analysis by conducting feasibility studies and developing specifications for output management related services and system/application issues; develops specialized solutions, tests, analyzes and diagnoses problems and formulates solutions that impact several functional areas within a facility. The role applies Information Engineering principles, MS Office experience and data, function and process models, analyzes market, technology and industry trends and standards and provides recommendations on the use and evolution of technology and tools.
What you’ll do
- Responds to user problems, analyzes and diagnoses problems, assesses operational needs and
formulates recommendations and/or solutions. Reviews and consults with departments to assess
requirements, such as specifications, quantity, quality, costs and delivery dates; recommends substitutes to improve delivery and/or costs. - Conducts performance analysis and generates applicable reports to develop and recommend
adjustments and solutions to Senior Business Analysts and/or Leaders to improve operating activity. - Participates in the development of technical support procedures and other instructional material for
programmer analysts and operations staff regarding modifications to systems programming. Tracks and maintains team performance metrics such as measures against including service level objectives, operational status of equipment, and time to respond, and recommends program adjustments and/or new programs to improve operating activities. - Monitors implementation of applications, performs business process re-engineering analysis tasks and recommends improvements to workflow and structures to improve operating activities.
- Participates in business and technical infrastructure projects by performing data analysis, feasibility
studies, and supporting business case development. - Analyzes operational problems by review of database design and analysis of data using SQL queries and various reporting/analytical tools. Updates, reports on, and tracks remediation activities for identified technical or business risks. Develops recommendations for the transition of knowledge from the vendor/developer project teams to the IM/IT and client staff.
- Develops business scenarios and associated test plans and participates in acceptance testing of new or changed business applications, packages, and technical infrastructure.
- Assigns work tasks to designated staff and provides related training and orientation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What you bring
Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science, plus three years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

- Ability to write programs in a variety of programming languages.

- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
