Pieridae owns and operates natural gas and liquids-producing assets across Canada, with a primary focus on our Foothills assets in Alberta which produce approximately 40,000 boe/day, in addition to three major sour gas processing facilities. Position Summary:
Pieridae Energy is looking for a Finance & Capital Markets Analyst who will be a key member of the Corporate Finance team and will be accountable for short and long term financial forecasts, monthly and quarterly management and board reporting and providing analytical support for capital markets projects and investor relations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Corporate Planning: assist with annual budget preparation and monthly forecast update processes including interfacing with other members of Finance team, marketing and operations, maintenance and operation of 12–36 month planning models
· Long Term Planning: maintain and operate long term scenario and planning models to assist management with strategic decision making in cooperation with finance, business development, marketing and operations
· Price Forecast: create and manage monthly commodity, interest rate and FX price forecasts process in conjunction with Marketing, Finance and Engineering
· G&A Forecast: create, update and monitor G&A budget and forecast including quarterly variance analysis, management and Board reporting
· Reporting: Assist in preparation of quarterly board materials including variance analysis, liquidity monitoring, annual budget submissions, hedging program, etc.
· Capital Markets: cost of capital estimation, peer benchmarking, transaction monitoring, compliance and support of key capital market initiatives including debt and equity financing projects
· Business Development: Provide analytical support for business development initiatives including property A&D projects, economic analysis, etc.
· Investor Relations: provide analytical support to IR/ER team including financial analysis and modeling, guidance recommendations, creation and maintenance of investor presentation and other investor-facing materials
Education and Work Experience:
· Undergraduate university degree in Business, Finance or Engineering
· Advancement toward professional accounting or finance designation or post-graduate degree preferred (CFA, CA, MBA)
· Not less than 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the upstream or midstream segments of the energy industry
· Exceptional financial modelling and presentation development capabilities
· A passion for translating data into information
· Expert level MS Excel and PowerPoint capabilities
· ValNAV, QByte/Optix, PowerBI, Bloomberg Terminal experience an asset
· Strong attention to detail, highly organized
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to develop and strengthen strong internal and external relationships
