RMUS Canada Director of Operations
RMUS Canada is looking for a key leader to join the management team of our growing Mississauga based Headquarters. The Director of Operations role is our first management hire in Operations and is for someone who loves to satiisfy customers and ensure that we have a well oiled machine supporting them. You put the customer first and are able to empathize with their needs but remain open and honest about the realities of logistics. Ideally you will have some experience with a Value Added Reseller organization and maybe even have some experience overseeing service teams.
A bit about our company. As the largest commercial RPAS reseller in North America, RMUS is North American leader in Inspection and Public Safety robotics. RMUS Canada partners with the leading brands in the aerial space including DJI, Parrot, DeltaQuad, Autel, and Inspired Flight. Our robotics portfolio includes Boston Dynamics, DeepTrekker, Patrios other specialty providers. We currently have successful deployments with some of the largest organizations in the world and are growing like crazy across Canada.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to get into the fast growing Robotics space and loves to build and train teams. You will be required to oversee 3 (currently small) teams: the service team, the logistics operations team, and the training team. As an individual you will also be responsible for procurement and will ensure that inventory is tracked and maintained appropriately. In short, you will need to wear a lot of hats and be hands on – this is not a sitting in the office and waiting for others to do things type of. We do expect a lot of growth in this team over the next 5 years so your recruiting, interviewing, team development skills will be in the spotlight.

The role:

· Direct and oversee operations staff to ensure that they are motivated and trained to carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.
· Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that core operational functions achieve their business objectives.
· Own everything coming in and going out of the company including: customer orders, supplier orders, demo units, and trade show gear. If it is not nailed down, you know where it is and where it should be.
· Direct and control warehousing and distribution functions to ensure that customers are supplied with the right quantities of goods at the right time.
· Act as the company’s main adviser on all issues relating to operational functions and keep abreast of latest developments to ensure that the company maintains its competitive position.
· Provide direction to the Operations manager in work assignments and day-to-day activities while working in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Finance departments to achieve on-time and quality delivery to customers.
· Be part of the core management team of the company and participate with new ideas.
This position reports to the General Manager and is a full time in person position at our Mississauga location.
The ideal candidate will have these Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
· 5 years of management or supervisory experience with teams of 3 and greater
· 3 Years working in a Value Added Reseller or Manufacturing environment.
· Intermediate understanding of logistics.
· Customer service experience
· Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
· An impeccable communication style – you have exceptional and proven written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present in a compelling manner
· Financial Acumen – Able to budget and track operational costs and manage inventory levels
· A healthy suspicion of all courier companies (an intense dislike of DHL is preferred)
Not required but would be an asset
· Previous experience in Robotics
· Project Management experience and/or certification
· A second or third language
Remuneration
Base salary $75-85k annually
Company performance bonus (annual)
