Rossi Advisory Group Looking for Accounting Associate at Mississauga, ON Full Time

Fast growing company is excited to announce an opening for an Accounting Associate position in Mississauga.

Reporting to the Senior Accountant and Director of Finance and Accounting, the Accounting Associate is responsible for supporting day to day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general accounting, ensuring effective, efficient, and accurate financial and administrative operations.

Job Specifications

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Receive customer cheques via mail, prepare and post bank deposit and deposit the cheques in the Bank
• Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
• Communicate with customers and Sales Rep. via phone/email for follow up on overdue invoices, resolve queries and payment discrepancies.
• Perform customer account reconciliations, resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation, issuing stop payments, payments or adjustments
• Process customer credit card and EFT payments.
• Review and verify vendor invoices with purchase order, process invoices in accounting system for payments ensuring correct approval, coding of accounts and cost centers
• Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements, researching issues and coordinate with vendors regarding invoicing, payment inquiries and discrepancies.
• Review and process employee and Sales rep expense reports in Concur ( Spend Management Application) ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Prepare and perform Cheque run ensuring appropriate payment terms.
• Post Journal Entries in the accounting system
• Maintains financial historical records by filing accounting documents
• Prioritizes to period- end reporting schedules, assists with accruals, and close procedures
• Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years progressive experience in independently handling AR/AP function.
• Experience with SAP accounting system would be an added advantage
• Completed undergraduate studies with specialization in accounting
• Excellent communication skills and experience, both oral and written
• Proficient in Excel and Word
• Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities
• Takes initiative, able to work independently and as an integral team member.
