Position Summary:
Reporting to the National Sales Manager the Sales and Marketing Assistant will provide direct support to Territory Sales Manager and ensure that all administrative and support functions of the Sales team are operating effectively by monitoring the accounts & orders. They will serve as a point of contact for customers with queries about products, orders, and deliveries and provide support for sales-related inquiries. The sales and Marketing Assistant will also provide support to the Marketing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales
Create, monitor, and maintain sales orders for Territory Sales Managers (including, but not limited to): data entry for manual orders, order maintenance, order status updates, investigating and resolving any sales order issues which may arise
Check data accuracy in orders and invoices. Contact customers to obtain missing information or answer queries
Liaise with the Logistics department to ensure timely deliveries
Maintain and update sales and customer records
Connect with Territory Sales Managers daily to resolve outstanding requests
Work closely with Sales team to ensure they are abreast in all that is happening weekly on their accounts
Communicate important feedback from customers internally
Marketing
Assist with implementation of marketing strategies as determined by Management
Work with marketing team to manage brand, marketing initiatives and campaigns
Assist with promotional activities and organizing dealer/customer events
Track existing marketing campaigns to completion and report on results
Collaborate with colleagues in other departments, including sales
Assist with the maintenance of database systems, blog platforms, social media accounts and website
Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably expected by management within the scope and responsibilities of a Sales and Marketing role
Requirements:
Degree/Diploma in business administration, marketing, or related field
Minimum 2 years experience as a Sales/Marketing Assistant
Highly organized including follow-up skills as well as customer service skills
Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to tight deadlines
Strong initiative, problem solving, organizational and analytic thinking skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook)
Demonstrated experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest)
Strong sense of propriety and discretion
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, problem solving skills and detail-oriented
Proficient in excel and all Microsoft programs
Solid interpersonal skills-great communicator
Ability to work with tight timelines and under pressure
Understanding of planning and pricing principals would be an asset
Understanding of basic business and marketing concepts
Excellent time management skills
Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal and social abilities
Ability to spot emerging trends
Familiarity with social media, social networking, email marketing and search engines
Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
Strong writing and copy-editing abilities
Ability to work independently or as a team player
Ability to work flexible hours and extended hours during peak season
