Summary:

Stellar Creative Lab is actively looking for a Surfacing Lead who can bring their talent to create the look, feel, and texture of characters, environments, and objects with the Surfacing team.

Your Main Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead a team under guidance from Surfacing Supervisor
• Manage and support all aspects of asset creation, including modeling, texturing, and rigging.
• Collaborate with Production on setting a delivery schedule and quality standards
• Track surfacing creations and approvals
• Collaborate with Pipeline to ensure a smooth workflow of the assets and potential improvements
• Communicate and collaborate with CG Supervisor to solve issues

Your Experience, Talents and Abilities:

• 3+ years of experience in a Lead or Senior position in the asset creation process.
• Proficiency in Maya, Mari and Shotgun are a must.
• Strong painting skills with a good understanding of color theory and design.
• Art school training and Look Dev experience are a definite plus.
• Comprehensive knowledge of industry software and workflows.
• Motivated and flexible team leader who can inspire others, while coping with constant changes and revisions.
• Must have exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), as well as active listening skills with an understanding of client service.
• Must be proactive with strong planning and organizational skills; be confident and enthusiastic when communicating in person and/or over the phone; and enjoy working in a fast-paced creative team environment;
• Knowledge of both 3D episodic television and feature workflows is an asset
• Eligible to work in B.C.
• Remote Work possible
