Do you want to work for Unilever’s entrepreneurial and ambitious Health and Wellbeing (H&W) business focusing on one of the biggest consumer trends of the last few years? Our purpose is to disrupt. The Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements (VMS) market is currently dominated by a few traditional and conservative market leaders. We aim to disrupt these leaders by democratizing health and wellbeing and recruiting a whole new generation of consumers. H&W Canada began in 2019 with the acquisition of OLLY gummies- a brand that has grown tenfold for Unilever Canada in the short time since then, boosted by significant business in pure play and with key retailers with over 70% of our consumers totally new to the category. This exponential growth is expected to continue into the future as we integrate more of newly acquired brands into our Canadian portfolio.
We are looking for an Assistant Brand manager to lead key priorities in the H&W strategy and support the Canadian H&W lead in the development and execution of engagement and communication projects. This position offers a great opportunity to demonstrate independent leadership and own deliverables. We’re looking for a candidate who can hit the ground running, demonstrate high levels of responsibility, ownership and desire to develop within the exciting and demanding world of VMS.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
You’re a self-starter and entrepreneur: H&W is truly as close as you can come to a startup within the Unilever umbrella. Our brands are all recent M&As and still operate independently as startups. This position demands being able to operate comfortably in the complex and ambiguous space, often working outside the scope of a typical ABM role.
You’re a born leader: This position requires strong leadership skills as you will interact with multi-functional business partners as well as agencies.
You have a bias for action: This position will require someone to operate in a fast-moving, constantly changing environment, and this individual is not satisfied with the status quo.
You’re obsessed with data: Strong analytical skills are required to understand the business, identify opportunities and risks, and propose relevant actions. With limited historical insight to rely on we must use data to guide our strategy.
You’re a team player: As a small team experiencing high growth, we are reliant on the strength of our team as greater than the sum of its individual parts. Working well with a team and being able to work with the sales team in particular is vital to succeed in this role.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
The ideal candidate is passionate about building brands. They have strong analytic ability and business acumen, like to think big-picture but then get their hands dirty and execute, and overall are driven by results and making a difference in people’s lives.
