The University of Alberta is seeking to hire an experienced leader to oversee the administration and operational management of the College of Health Sciences which includes the faculties of Nursing; Medicine and Dentistry; Rehabilitation Medicine; Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences; Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation; and the School of Public Health.
The College General Manager (CGM) is critical to the success of the University’s new administrative academic model – responsible for providing leadership to ensure the successful delivery of administrative service excellence throughout the college. The CGM works collegially with the Senior Partners of each administrative function (HR, Finance, IT, Engagement, Research Admin, etc ) and with the Faculty General M anagers to provide operational leadership and administrative services to the College.
Accountabilities
Reporting directly to the College Dean and Vice Provost and as a member of the College’s leadership team and its leadership committees, you will provide expert advice and counsel to the dean and the faculty leadership team and are an experienced, collaborative, intuitive and strategic influencer proficient in each of the core responsibilities of the position. You will align administrative services across the faculties within the college and provide oversight over college administrative operations.

Desired Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of pro gressive leadership experience, overseeing complex administrative, academic-support and/or service based functions, supplemented with a masters level degree in a related field. Experience within a large post-secondary environment is preferred. Combinations of experience, expertise , and education will be considered .
The candidate should have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to negotiate, consult, influence and build consensus at the highest levels; exceptional analytical an d conceptual skills with proven ability to adapt to new situations and develop creative solutions to complex strategic and operational challenges; outstanding planning skills and a demonstrated ability to establish and communicate a long-term strategic vis ion and manage large-scale resources in a large, complex organization; superior leadership and management skills including a strong financial acumen and experience leading transformational change.
