Urbantech is seeking a dynamic Human Resources Manager who would like to grow their career along with us. You will be required to consolidate our previous practices into a solid foundation and add on key elements that you design. We have immediate challenges with respect to recruitment, administration and longer-term opportunities regarding expansion and succession. The ideal candidate has worked within the professional services industry and understands the business context of client management and fee for service.

Major responsibilities include:

• Plan for and execute recruitment for our growing business
• Preserve the Urbantech culture throughout the employee life cycle: selection, onboarding, team building, and terminations as required
• Work with the Finance Department to roll out a comprehensive performance management program, incorporating goal setting, feedback and incentive
• Prioritize Health and Safety in all aspects of the business
• Develop a training and learning framework and culture
• Manage the employee relationship with Urbantech, including benefits, vacation requests, sick time etc.
• Execute corporate communications and employee relations practices that preserve the Urbantech culture and promote a high level of employee engagement
• Provide guidance to managers/department heads on performance management, terminations, the interpretation and application of the labour laws, policies and applicable norms, to ensure adherence and conformity.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements, including privacy, human rights, WSIB, etc.
• Ensure all HR activities meet the business needs of Urbantech while aligning with our mission

Skills and Qualifications:

• CHRP certified or in process
• Post-secondary school education in Human Resources Management.
• 5 to 10 years in a progressive human resources role in a growing entrepreneurial organization, preferably a consulting a company
• Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to simplify complex issues for staff consumption
• Ability to interact well with all levels and personality types within the organization
• Strong analytical skills to keep pace with a technically minded professional work force
• Exposure to the Real Estate Development and Construction industry is an asset
