Position Summary
We are seeking a Compliance Engineer that will be a project team member that works closely with senior designers and is responsible for assisting with the design, testing, troubleshooting, and prototyping of new products with focus on meeting safety, EMI, EMC, and other regulatory standards. In addition, they are responsible for coordination of internal and external lab testing for regulatory compliance testing, including generating official reports.
Duties & Responsibilities to include (but not limited to)
Be a resource of expert advice to Hardware Design team to ensure products are designed to meet all safety, EMC, and other regulatory requirements
Identifies and proactively raises awareness to technical challenges which could have regulatory impacts across projects before implementation requiring significant later work to resolve
Test for regulatory/compliance (Safety, EMI, EMC)
Maintain an expert understanding of compliance regulations and test methodologies
Manage compliance activities for new and legacy products
Technical project team leadership
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience
5+ years of relevant experience
Deep knowledge of worldwide safety, EMI, and EMC compliance standards; IEC 62368-1, IEC 60950-1, IEC 60950-22, FCC Part 15B, ICES, EN 55032, EN 55035
Hands-on testing experience for Safety, EMI, and EMC
Experience with standard professional test lab equipment and processes for certification
Knowledge of worldwide regulatory requirements and approval process
Ability to read schematics and specifications and to perform circuit analysis
Experience creating test plans
Experience working with manufacturing facilities and factory inspections including creating corrective actions for nonconformities
Experience with material compliance regulations is a plus; RoHS, REACH, SCIP, WEEE, Conflict Minerals, Prop 65
Experience with Microsoft Office, Office 365, SharePoint
