VS Consulting Group Looking for Senior Financial Analyst at Toronto, ON Full Time

Purpose:

Our client is looking for a The Senior Financial Analyst who is accountable in ensuring timely and accurate accounting, reporting and analysis.The position will assist in fostering a strong control environment while providing proactive coordination of the flow of information with the finance staff across the company and deliver financial operations support and assist in the achievement of the budgeted targets and goals for the organization. This includes forecasting, KPI tracking, support for budgeting & business planning processes and involvement in other special projects as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage rental asset portfolio and associated customer relationship and ensure monthly journal entries (JEs) are prepared and completed on a timely basis
• Reconciles and/or reviews G/L accounts (rental fixed assets and intangible fixed assets) and perform rollforward for insuring investigation and follow up on outstanding items
• Maintains consistency and adherence to accounting policies, best practices and goals
• Reconcile data between systems to determine inconsistencies and recommend/initiate process changes to improve performance
• Partner with business to identify and monitor KPI’s, gathers and formats data into regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards
• Perform monthly analysis of cost of acquisition and portfolio movements
• Build analytical models to perform ad-hoc financial analysis to provide a broad perspective on financial impact and make recommendations to Management
• Assist with year-end audit processes through the preparation of audit working papers
• Provide support during the budget process to ensure budget is completed within given timeline with the appropriate levels involved
• Operational Excellence – Identify and report on key success factors. Recommend improvements to current operating practices, processes and procedures.
• Ability to work with large volumes of data, understanding trends and provide insight
• Provide analysis and metrics in a timely and consistent manner to cross functional internal stakeholders
• Organize, monitor and facilitate internal reporting to ensure initiatives stay on target
• Retention – Measure the success of Reliance’s current customer retention program and provide analysis to support new initiatives. Based on analysis performed and opportunities identified, work with Sales/Retention teams to suggest and operationalize new retention campaigns
• Provide value-add variance analysis to operations divisions to drive performance
• Highlight and bring attention to financial issues prior to them becoming significant
• Provide coaching to non-financial managers on importance of financial procedures/impacts
• Act as liaison with other members of the Finance group and the organization to ensure data integrity, address challenges and identify opportunities for increased efficiencies and improvements
• Assists with special projects as required.

SKILLS, ABILITIES and EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate possesses the following educational background and skill set:

• 3-5 years accounting work experience with financial analysis capacity
• CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation
• Detail oriented and results focused, as well as the ability to see the big picture and how tasks fit into accomplishing the overall company objectives
• Motivated to deliver against immovable deadlines and within tight timelines
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to communicate identified problems and facilitate resolution
• Develops solutions that effectively address underlying concerns
• Able to work in a team to accomplish shared goals
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Ability to interpret financial results and communicate them to non-financial users
• SQL and VBA experience an asset
• Experience working with Power BI, Prophix and KNIME desired but not required
• Strong problem solving and time management skills
• Experience with SAP is preferred

Salary: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
