In compliance with Board policies and procedures, responsible for all aspects of the education programming of the Heritage Schoolhouse Museum and Archives including research, development, implementation and maintenance of in-house, outreach, and online programs. Oversee the development and maintenance of the Museum and Archives collection used for programming.
Majorresponsibilities
At the direction of the Associate Director of Education,EquitableOutcomesand Schools,theStudentAdvisor will be responsible for:
To research, develop, implement and maintain educational programming for the
Museum and Archives that is consistent with current curriculum guidelines, and
consistent with current museum pedagogy.
To promote programs to Board staff.
To coordinate and deliver programs.
To liaise with other Board departments, curriculum consultants, teachers and the
community regarding programming and the Museum collection.
To assist the Curator with the education collection of the Museum and Archives including ensuring proper documentation and building of the collection.
To develop knowledge of the Museum and Archives collection for the development of programming.
To keep current with developments in the museum education field.
To keep current with curriculum needs of teachers in the York Region District School Board
To perform other duties as requested.

Responsible to the Associate Manager/Assistant Manager of LRS and LDD.
Experienceandqualifications
A three year post-secondary degree or diploma in museum studies or equivalent, as approved by the board.
Minimum two years’ experience in the development and delivery of museum education
programs is required.
Effective verbal and written communication, interpersonal, problem solving and computer skills are required.
