POSITION PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Manager, Infectious Diseases Control Division, the Public Health Pharmacist is responsible for providing support to ensure safe, effective and accurate distribution of publicly funded vaccines and medications, investigations of adverse storage conditions, educating healthcare providers on vaccine storage and handling practices, and conducting cold chain maintenance inspections in accordance with all Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) standards, protocols, guidelines and objectives. Provides support in planning, organizing, developing, improving, and implementing program processes, policies and procedures. Acts as a vaccine and pharmaceutical content expert, mentor and resource. Provides guidance, training, mentoring, and coordinating, assigning, scheduling and verifying the accuracy and completion of the assigned work of staff.
