FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance of Hanna Paper, the candidate will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial statements and data as well as the management of general ledger accounts, with an emphasis on identifying trends and investigating variances for the eight Hanna Paper plants. The incumbent will have to interact frequently with people from different levels in the organization in various offices. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures, P&L and Balance Sheet reporting as well as experience with accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Specifically, the incumbent will have the following responsibilities:

• Prepares and records asset, liability, income and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information;
• Maintain, update and analyse cash flow reporting for entire Hanna Group;
• Review and reconcile sales data;
• Reconcile various general ledger accounts, primarily cash accounts, sales tax, payroll, Accruals, and, Prepaids;
• In charge of various Bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly journal entries (prepaids, accruals, fixed assets);
• Prepare documents for the annual audit of financial statements;
• Ensure all financial data is posted to the GL;
• Assist in the preparation / own the preparation of Financial Statements
• Participate in the preparation of work files for the financial Year-end and the month-end.
• Continuous Improvement mindset, willing to dedicate time in order to enhance existing processes, models and reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A university degree in business administration/accounting or a College diploma in accounting;
• Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience;
• Possess analytical skills, be problem-solving oriented and detail oriented;
• Be a good communicator with great interpersonal skills;
• Have an excellent command of the Office suite (essential);
• Ability to prioritize work, manage priorities and tight deadlines;
• Ability to listen and work in a team;
• English required, fluency in French a plus.
