Description:
This opportunity is a regular full time position within HR Business Partnerships supporting the North Zone, allowing you a chance to explore an HR Advisor role within Northern Alberta. As a HR Advisor, HR Business Partnerships – North Zone you will be responsible for providing human resources advice and support to AHS management staff and employees, within an assigned geographical area. You will support clients by coordinating, advising and educating on a variety of functions including human resources strategic planning; organizational design and development; performance management; employee and labour relations; collective agreement and employment policy interpretation; grievance management; compensation and job evaluation; recruitment and selection; workforce planning and capacity initiatives; ability management; and employee health and wellness. You will interpret client needs, assess requirements and identify solutions to non-standard issues and requests including engagement of HR specialists as required. As much of this work is performed independently, an important aspect is fostering and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with AHS managers, HR networks and service centres, and Union representatives.

Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a related post-secondary degree in human resources, business administration or related area. A minimum of 2 years in a human resources role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development as well as excellent interpersonal skills. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Health Care experience is considered an asset. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making, facilitating change, and coaching/teaching people. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation, inspiring and building confidence in others, along with the ability to build solid relationships with colleagues and internal/external stakeholders. Demonstrated analytical and situational thinking.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPHR or other recognized designation is preferred.
