Disney Looking for Manager, Affiliate Relations at Toronto, ON Full Time

Disney Platform Distribution:

Disney Platform Distribution (DPD) is a business unit within Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) that manages all third-party media sales efforts for distribution, affiliate marketing and affiliate-related business operations for all of the Company’s direct-to-consumer services and linear media networks; content sales agreements for General Entertainment, Studios and Sports; as well as global theatrical film distribution; management of Disney’s iconic El Capitan Theatre and the Disney Music Group.

Position Overview:

The Manager, Affiliate Relations role reports to the Sr. Manager, Content Sales and Distribution. The role will be working closely with third party clients to support the content we sell. This includes, but is not limited to end-to-end management of DTC Distribution and Marketing opportunities or Content Licensing opportunities. Further, the role will support the team with rating analysis and development of sales materials, assisting the sales of media and digital content in the Canadian market.

Responsibilities:

• Manage client relationships and the distribution of Disney content, supporting revenue and subscriber targets across DTC and the company’s entire channel portfolio
• Negotiate and manage a select group of DTC third party partnerships with a focus on sub growth
• Input, manage and maintain internal channels that facilitate approval and sourcing of resources to meet DTC third party partnership needs
• Manage client Marketing approvals and servicing
• Comprehensive Ratings Research reporting, analysis, and ability to interpret data to build stories for Disney Sales and Marketing
• Create impactful presentations that combine analytics and storytelling in PowerPoint / Keynote
• Liaise with U.S. and Canadian DTC, Marketing and Analytical teams to fulfill client needs
• Educate, monitor and ensure client compliance in regards to Marketing guidelines, Content protection, and Disney sales support sites
• Build strong internal and external relationships to collaboratively work across teams and departments
• Assist in managing Sales tools including contract list and customer profiles
• Update and manage internal revenue tracking documents

Requirements:

• 7 + years of sales/marketing experience within the Canadian Entertainment Media Industry; experiences with broadcasting, programming, sales and distribution preferred
• Comfort with negotiating complex and multifaceted client relationships
• Strong knowledge of the media market
• Expertise in understanding, interpreting and correlating data to provide sales, marketing, and content programming business insights
• Grasp of current Marketing strategies and trends
• Ability to produce creative and impactful presentation decks
• Proficiency using data analytics software for content research is ideal (broadcast, digital, & social)
• Strong problem solving skills while utilizing creative thinking techniques
