Summary
Join our People & Culture team! Reporting into the Director, People & Culture, the People & Culture Manager supports the organization by creating and implementing HR initiatives and best practices aligned with organizational needs. The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing the human resources department; he/she will oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee administration, learning and development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance management, internal communication and terminations. The HR Manager promotes a diverse and inclusive culture and supports employee growth and long-term retention. The position reports directly into the Director, People & Culture .
Responsibilities
· Develop and implement HR initiatives to meet the needs of internal stakeholders and overall organizational goals
· Identify gaps in policies and processes and provide recommendations to senior leadership
· Participate in growth initiatives; organizational design, role creation and development
· Provide advice to management and senior leadership teams with respect to complex people and organizational issues
· Partner with leaders to develop and assess the effectiveness of career development, retention, and talent management strategies
· Provide support for workforce planning, on-boarding, performance management, investigations, learning and development initiatives
· Work with leaders to promote a diverse and inclusive culture focusing on coaching, mentoring and developing employees
· Create a strategic recruitment plan and process to attract and retain great people
· Educate and advise managers and employees on HR programs, policies and procedures
· Develop and monitor HR Metrics for operational efficiency and organizational growth
· Develop compensation structures and strategies to enhance talent attraction and retention
· Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement and retention of employees
· Develop and maintain policies and procedures in accordance with company values and in compliance with legislation
· Maintain a current knowledge of industry trends and HR developments, including legislation and best practices
Qualifications
· Post secondary education in Human Resources or related field
· CHRP, CHRL designation preferred, JHSC Certification Required
· 5+ years’ experience in an HR Capacity, leadership would be a preference
· Expert in compliance and legislation (ESA, Human Rights, OHSA, AODA, etc.)
· Proven experience delivering HR Best practices; current with HR trends and technology
· Exceptional communication skills; ability to interact at all levels of the organizations
· Experience with compensation structures, organization design, and monitoring HR metrics
· Demonstrated ability to work in a confidential manner
· Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally
