Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator will focus on the administration of employment processes in accordance with HDGH hiring guidelines and polices. The role will contribute to the overall success of the hiring committee by providing a high level of focus on selecting qualified candidates. In addition, the role will support the HRIS and other relevant Human Resources systems. The Human Resources Coordinator will ensure HRIS data is accurate, up to date and in compliance with the Collective Agreements. This position supports compliance with legislation and procedures as well as providing the Human Resources department with statistical reporting.
Qualifications:
- Support all phases of an employee life cycle including; recruitment, promotion and transfer
- Screen and select best qualified candidates
- Determine applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements
- Maintain documentation by; updating applicant logs, creating new employee personnel files and job posting files
- Manage disposition of postings in accordance with the Collective Agreements
- Ensure all HRIS data is accurate through internal audits and by controlling system access to administrative functions
- Implementation of compensation increases; benefits adjustments and other routine HRIS maintenance
- Responsible for the day-to-day administration and new process building for all HRIS
- Provide accurate and consistent data flow between the Human Resources, Finance and Payroll Departments
- Update and create vacation entitlement reports for employees in compliance with Collective Agreement
- Monitor and maintain seniority lists in compliance with Collective Agreements
- Responsible for Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) and Ministry of Health reporting
- Special Human Resources Projects, as assigned
Education and/or Certification:
- 1-2 Years’ Experience with Unionized Recruitment – Required
- 1-2 Years’ Experience with Human Resources Analytics and Reporting – Required
- Experience in Healthcare – Preferred
- Experience working with HR Software including; Infinium, KRONOS, Halogen and Citrix
- Ability to work independently and with others as a collaborative team
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, consult with employees at all levels
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines and establish work priorities
EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:
- Successful completion of a post-secondary degree in Human Resources – Required
- Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or relevant discipline – Preferred
- 3-5 years progressive experience working in a similar role preferably within a healthcare environment – Preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office application including Excel, Word, and Outlook – Required
