About the Opportunity:
Join an exceptional Total Rewards Team within a renowned professional service firm headquartered in the Toronto Financial district. As this team expands, they seek a Benefits Specialist to complement their already exceptional group. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Payroll & Benefits, the Benefits Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day administration and delivery of the firm’s benefits, disability, and retirement savings programs across all offices, ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Benefit Programs: Oversee the daily processing and delivery of the company’s Canadian and U.S. benefit programs, including disability and retirement plans. Handle benefit plan changes, conduct orientations for eligible employees, and serve as a subject matter expert for related queries.
- Enhance Program Efficiency: Collaborate with the Senior Manager to identify and recommend improvements to benefit programs and processes. Support the annual benefit open enrollment process, administer disability cases, and conduct retirement program orientation sessions. Develop and deliver educational sessions on retirement plans annually.
- Financial Oversight: Reconcile and approve payments for benefit invoices, retirement plan contributions, and general ledger accounts. Track and monitor monthly expenditures, reviewing anomalies or significant variances with the Senior Manager. Contribute to the annual benefits budget process.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3+ years in a benefits administrative role with experience across Canada and/or the U.S.
- Strong one-on-one interaction with employees using a consultative approach.
- Attained, working towards, or a desire to obtain CEBS.
