As an Accounts Payable and Trust Coordinator you will play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining the financial transactions related to our clients’ trust accounts and accounts payable processes. Your expertise in law firm accounting and meticulous attention to detail will be essential in ensuring compliance with legal and ethical financial practices.
Your key responsibilities:
– Manage and oversee the trust accounting functions, including the reconciliation of client trust accounts, processing trust deposits and disbursements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
– Handle the full-cycle accounts payable process, including the accurate and timely processing of invoices, vendor payments, and expense reports.
– Collaborate with the billing department to provide accurate and timely financial information for client billing, ensuring all trust-related expenses are properly allocated.
– Maintain positive relationships with vendors and ensure vendor invoices are processed efficiently and accurately.
– Stay up-to-date with legal and regulatory requirements related to trust accounting, ensuring the firm’s practices are in full compliance.
– Maintain organized and comprehensive records of trust transactions, accounts payable documentation, and related financial records.
– Prepare financial reports related to trust accounts, accounts payable, and vendor management, providing insights to support decision-making.
– Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of trust accounting and accounts payable processes.
Your key qualifications:
– Previous experience in a law firm environment is required, with a strong understanding of trust accounting and accounts payable processes.
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
– Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to trust accounting and accounts payable in a law firm setting.
– Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
– Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
– Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
– High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
