Surrey Schools, a diverse and progressive school district, is seeking interest from exemplary leaders to join its dynamic team as Assistant Manager, Safe Schools Department. Reporting to the Manager of Safe Schools, the Assistant Manager will participate in the development and management of school district initiatives that support student safety.
This position liaises with the Ministry of Education, local law enforcement agencies, MCFD and other key stakeholders in support and delivery of evidence-based and best practice resources throughout our district.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following Qualifications
A degree in social sciences or equivalent education and training is required.
Experience with student discipline and current Violence Threat Risk Assessment models;
Knowledge and experience with provincial School Safety Alert System and Critical Incident Response Management;
Ability to pass enhanced security clearance with local law enforcement agency
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse individuals and groups, including students, staff, families and community agencies
Demonstrated ability to collaboratively identify and problem-solve complex school and community safety issues, including critical incidents and trends at the school and district level;
Knowledge of developmental psychology and the ability to assess the behavioral and social-emotional needs of students;
Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism while working in a collaborative environment.
The salary range for this position is $87,661 – $109,577.
Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of qualifications and ability to meet the key requirements of the job, and consideration of internal equity comparisons.
