ABOUT THIS TEAM

Inbound Logistics (IBL) oversees global shipments from over 20 countries into distribution centers (DC’s) in 7 countries and growing every year. The team is responsible for all aspects of inbound operations from time of hand over of the goods from lululemon’s Finished Goods Vendors globally and to arrival of goods at global DC’s. The team is located across the globe in Asia and North America. The team is directly responsible for the cost control, on-time performance and network planning for all inbound lanes. The team manages well over a $300 million spend.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• This role reports into the Sr. Director of Inbound Logistics and is crucial in the overall success of Global Inbound Logistics. The role oversees cost and performance for all lululemon’s logistic service providers (LSP’s).
• Responsible for all aspects of the request for proposal (RFP) contract negotiation exercises in collaboration with key internal stakeholders. Which includes, in partnership with the Sr. Director of Inbound Logistics, determining LSP invite list for the annual request for information (RFI) exercise. Based on key metrics and results from the RFP this role will assist in determining lane allocation of freight volume to LSP’s.
• Sr. Category Manager will be responsible for the creation of documentation and presentations that support inbound rate and performance reviews globally, which also include running quarterly business reviews (QBR’s).
• Work closely with internal financial partners to report out on market drivers that impact rates and service as well as discuss mitigation plans to stay within budget. Role will also be responsible for reporting “bottom’s up” rates on an as needed basis to key internal partners. Role will be responsible for generating all rate modeling exercises required to support business needs.
• Will create a data-driven approach that helps determine risk mitigation decisions for both cost and service if either are at risk of missing targets. This role will create key benchmarks that drive inbound logistics cost and service and report out.
• Responsible for overseeing the relationship with lululemon’s Freight, Audit and Pay (FAP) provider for inbound logistics and be responsible for the internal team that generates reports from the system. Role will manage relationships with market intelligence providers – i.e., Xeneta, JOC, Alphaliner.
• Will be key contributor in maintaining critical data in lululemon’s Transportation Management System (TMS) platform, including, but not limited to, rates and optimization reporting.
• Sr. Category Manager is expected to stay in tune, at an in-depth level, to the inbound logistics marketplace and communicate potential risk to the business. In coordination with other direct reports to the Sr. Director of Inbound Logistics, this role will help develop global risk mitigation plans to manage disruption to both cost and service. This role will be responsible for developing and establishing a regular cadence to report out on market intelligence to all key internal stakeholders.
• In collaboration with key global fulfillment partners this role will be a vital contributor in sourcing and implementing lululemon’s future inbound network solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree, in Economics or Supply Chain preferred, and minimum 5+ years work experience in relevant position in logistics
• Demonstrated People Manager, International experience, outstanding analytical skills, project management background, wiliness to travel internationally when required
• Preferred experience with Microsoft Office, Spend Management Platforms, such as Coupa and Business Intelligence logic.
• Proven track record of driving savings results and optimizing of logistics networks
